A Weekend Away

We spent last weekend out at my parent's cabin (or cabinet as Charlie says).  It was the first time we have done an overnight trip with the 3 kids and we were a little nervous about how everyone would do.  It was hard at times: the car ride, even though only 45 min, was rough, sleep wasn't perfect which led to some overtired kids who didn't listen well but overall it was a great weekend and we plan on doing it again soon!  I have always loved spending time at the cabin and sharing that with my kids is really fun. It's our own little space where we can unplug and unwind.  It's summertime at it's best with days spent in swimsuits, smelling of sunscreen and sweat, grilling and drinking beer, coffee on the deck and just being together with few distractions. Especially now with all the craziness happening in the world it really feels like our own little safe haven where we can just be in our own little bubble for a while.

Sandy the dog is always a big hit.  Although Peyton renamed her "Sally"

We spent a couple of hours at the new pool.

Worn out!
Lots of playtime on the deck

Someday we'll get to a real beach/ocean.  But for now this is perfect!

Nora's First Birthday Garden Party

We had a great time celebrating Nora's first birthday with our friends and family.  She loved every minute!  My friend Cari owns her own photography business and she was so kind to take these pictures during the party.

My sister did an amazing job on the cupcakes and smash cake!

 Nora loved her cake!

Backyard

We have been spending a lot of time in our new backyard.  We love the privacy and the hill and rocks provide a lot of opportunity for play and exploration while we have plenty of flat area for playing ball and maybe a swing set someday.  We have seen a lot of animals including deer (almost daily and we have babies!), chipmunks, turtles, and a snake (not a fan!).

I love seeing the fawns!!  They are so cute! Peyton named this one Pumpkin

I'm pretty sure this is a second fawn.

First steps

I can't believe my baby girl is walking! She's getting more and more confident and has taken up to 10 steps. She's getting so big!
