We spent last weekend out at my parent's cabin (or cabinet as Charlie says). It was the first time we have done an overnight trip with the 3 kids and we were a little nervous about how everyone would do. It was hard at times: the car ride, even though only 45 min, was rough, sleep wasn't perfect which led to some overtired kids who didn't listen well but overall it was a great weekend and we plan on doing it again soon! I have always loved spending time at the cabin and sharing that with my kids is really fun. It's our own little space where we can unplug and unwind. It's summertime at it's best with days spent in swimsuits, smelling of sunscreen and sweat, grilling and drinking beer, coffee on the deck and just being together with few distractions. Especially now with all the craziness happening in the world it really feels like our own little safe haven where we can just be in our own little bubble for a while.
