8 Hours

That's how long Peyton has slept the past two nights!  I could hardly believe it the first night and kept waking up every couple of hours expecting her to wake up any minute.  When Jason's alarm went off for the morning and she was still sleeping I told him that she officially slept through the night!  We both felt like new people!  It's amazing what a good night of sleep can do. Peyton has been sleeping in the Rock n Play (she was sleeping in the Pack n Play previously) for the past week since she's had a little cold and it keeps her head slightly elevated. I'm not sure if the change of sleeping arrangement had anything to do with the longer stretches or if it's just coincidence, but now I'm afraid to put her back in the Pack n Play and risk losing the glorious 8 hour stretches! I know as soon as we get used to getting a full night of sleep every night she will likely change things up and start waking up every few hours again so we are going to enjoy it while we can!  Next step is to transition her to the crib in her nursery - but I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet.

Our good little sleeper!

Happy Birthday Jason, Part 1

Jason's birthday isn't until next weekend but we started the celebrating yesterday with my family.  My sister hosted everyone at her house for a delicious Sunday brunch.  It was great to spend time with everyone!

Peyton all dressed up for the party!

Merrill thought Jason's present made the perfect bench :)

Uncle Scott still has the magic touch and got Peyton to sleep!

Playtime

I haven't posted much since Peyton was born.  Honestly, I've been debating whether to keep up this blog or let it go.  I've been posting a lot more on Facebook lately - mostly pictures of my ridiculously cute baby ;)  But I don't want to bore or annoy my non-parent friends with too much baby stuff.  At least I know that people who read this blog come here expecting and wanting to see pictures of my ridiculously cute baby :)  I'm not sure how often I will post or how the content will change now that we are parents but we'll see how it goes.

Peyton is almost 6 weeks old and I can't believe how much she is changing everyday!  She is becoming so much more active and alert when she is awake and is starting to coo and smile - melts my heart every time!  I love her playtime each day.  She really enjoys just laying on her play-mat and looking around and entertaining herself!
