The Cabin

Jason and I spent part of the long weekend introducing Peyton to my parent's cabin out at Innsbrook. It was our first little family getaway and we had such a great time.  I wasn't sure how Peyton would react to being in a new place but she jumped right in and made herself at home.  We arrived at the cabin on Friday, ate lunch and then went for a walk.  We attempted an afternoon nap but with so much to explore it just wasn't going to happen.  So we headed down to the beach.  I wasn't sure if Peyton would like the sand.  I remember my niece Merrill not being a fan of the sand on her feet when she was younger and thought Peyton might be the same.  Nope.  She loved it.  Took off her shoes and got right to digging and playing!  After such a busy day, Peyton was pretty wiped out after dinner since she didn't nap.  We gave her a quick bath and she practically dove out of Jason's arms into the pack and play, went right to sleep and slept for 15 hours!  We really wore her out!  Jason and I enjoyed the evening on the deck talking and just spending some quiet time together.

Once Peyton finally woke up Saturday morning (at 9:15!) we had breakfast and then spent the morning at the cabin.  It was a rainy morning but even so it was fun to just relax and hang out.  Once the rain cleared we went up to the conference center for the big picnic that Innsbrook puts together for the property owners and their families each Memorial Day weekend.  It was wet and muddy but we enjoyed walking around, watching a magic show, seeing the petting zoo and doing a craft.  After the picnic we headed back to the cabin for a nap followed by dinner and a walk.  We ended the evening blowing bubbles on the deck :)

Sunday morning we headed back to the beach before cleaning up and heading out.

Jason and I both commented that this was probably the best weekend of Peyton's little life.  She had so much fun and we had so much fun watching her take it all in.  It was a much different weekend than previous trips out to the cabin with friends but equally as fun if not more so.  We can't wait to go back!
