20 months

At 20 months Peyton:

  • Is talking up a storm.  She is using 3-4 word sentences and saying new words everyday.
  • Is big on repetition of everything: books, songs, games:  all have to be repeated numerous times.  She also repeats herself until we acknowledge what she is saying!
  • Has adjusted really well to becoming a big sister.  She loves Charlie and most of the time is very content to have him around.  Of course she has her moments of jealousy but overall I am so happy with how she has adapted to having a little brother.
  • Has become quite the little mama.  She mimics everything I do with Charlie with her babies.  She feeds them and rocks them and changes their diapers.
  • Loves to help.  Whether in the kitchen or with Charlie she's always by my side saying "I wanna help".
  • Has been sleeping late. There were a couple of days last week that she slept til 10:00! Granted she didn't go to sleep til about 10 the night before - it tends to take her a long time to fall asleep at night.  She takes about a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.
  • Isn't actively potty training but has peed on the potty numerous times! She then runs around cheering for herself shouting "I pee on the potty!"  It's very exciting :)
  • Loves to play with her kitchen and "cook".  Her specialties include grilled cheese, eggs and cupcakes :)
  • Insists that she and Charlie wear Charlie's bibs.  Which is ironic because she refused to wear bibs when she actually needed them!
  • Is a Daddy's girl
  • Knows her colors.  She doesn't get them right 100% of the time but more often than not can name colors correctly.  Her current favorite is purple (she requests to wear purple multiple times a week)
  • Is working on counting.  Right now she will count "1,2,4,5,6"  Not sure what happened to 3 ;)
  • Has really been playing well with her cousins.  She loves all 3 of her cousins but Merrill is her bestie!  I love watching them interact!
  • Is my sweet, funny, smart little girl!  Recently I've just been looking at her and wondering how we ended up with this toddler.  She seems so grown up to me especially compared to Charlie.  Wasn't she just a newborn??

Her babies are always using Charlie's stuff :)
