6 years

Jason and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary last month.  A couple of weeks prior to our anniversary we enjoyed dinner out at Farmhaus followed by drinks on the patio at Farrotos.  We had an awesome dinner and when my mom called on our way home and reported that all 3 kids were asleep we took advantage and went for one more drink.  It was a great night and we talked a lot about all that we have achieved in the past 6 years - namely 3 beautiful babies!

Our actual anniversary fell on a Saturday and we decided to spend it celebrating with this little family of ours.  We started the day with swim lessons for Peyton and Charlie.  After Peyton's lesson I took her to meet my sister and her family at the Magic House for a Fall Farm Fest.  Peyton had fun petting baby cows and learning about local farming.  After lunch and naps we headed out on our anniversary fun day.  The traditional gift for year 6 is iron.  I took some creative liberties and planned a mini golf outing (nine iron). Jason's gift was tickets to a Rams game (grid iron).  Jason took the more literal route and got me a beautiful handmade cast iron heart with our names and wedding date etched into it.  It was a beautiful day for mini golf and the kids did pretty well.  Charlie especially had a great time.  Peyton lasted about halfway through the course before she got bored with it and Nora melted down about the same time.

After golfing everyone was getting hungry and a little cranky.  There were a few mini meltdowns in the car but we got everyone settled down and went to get dinner at Llewellyn's in Webster.  Jason and I ordered beers and just had to laugh at the emotional ups and downs of taking 3 small kids out and about.

Once we got some food in the kids they bounced back and were in great moods so it was on to our next stop - an outdoor showing of Frozen at Brentwood Park.  I wasn't sure how this would go after a full day of activities and the movie starting around normal bedtime, but the kids did great!  Peyton and Charlie were both in awe of watching a movie outside!  It was a cool night and it was fun to huddle together under blankets and watch the movie under the stars.  We didn't quite make it through the whole movie due to Nora.  Not sure if she was tired or cold or just overstimulated but she was not happy!  Of course as soon as we walked in the door she was all smiles.  She's a trickster that one!  Peyton and Charlie were tired though and were ok with leaving before the movie was over.  It was such a fun day celebrating 6 years and this crazy wonderful life we have created.
