Today was a perfect (almost) summer day. We had plans to go to a farm party but opted to stay home instead. We've been busy the past couple of weekends and dealing with sick kids (Peyton was sick all last week and Charlie has a double ear infection now) and it seemed better to just stay home and have a relaxing day. While I was really looking forward to the farm party and know we would have had a great time I don't think our day at home could have been more perfect. A trip to Lowe's this morning, yard work, lots of playtime outside, long naps for the kids, dinner outside, a really good bottle of red wine, ice cream and winding down with season 2 of Mad Men. Just what we all needed. Perfect in every way.
